Kassandra is the most developed of the three peninsulas, from a tourist perspective, of the three peninsulas, as high-standard hotels abound, water sports are offered, the entertainment is non-stop and most facilities are available.
Take an early morning dip in the crystal sea and then spend the rest of the day to discover the area's significant historical monuments, among them castles, monasteries and
churches - testimony of the great civilisations that where hosted on the land.
Sithonia is Kassandra's untamed sister. A place that has managed to retain its wild beauty and spirit and proves to be irresistible to lovers of the great outdoors. Climb its highest peak, Mt Dragoudelis (811m), and enjoy a magnificent view over the whole of Sithonia peninsula, with the conical Mt Athos visible to the east and Kassandra to the west.
Tiny beach coves abound, their waters a mix of deep blues and emerald green. In the south, at Kartalia, bearded vultures make their nests on sheer seaside cliffs. Tourist resorts are developing rapidly, offering an attractive alternative to Kassandra.
